Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada suspends in-person services until further notice

March 25, 2020

Like many of you, Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada has been monitoring the potential impact of COVID-19 and actively preparing to meet the demands of the evolving situation.

The Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the current risk as high, and are directing us to practice physical distancing and advising employers to offer virtual/distance-based work plans for employees. The health and safety of our clients and employees is of utmost importance. Therefore,  in-person services have been suspended until further notice and transitioned to virtual care.

In addition to our current services, Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada has established an essential emergency service, which provides urgent response to people with vision loss that meets the following criteria:

  • Have sudden and significant vision loss within the last two weeks
  • Are currently being discharged from the hospital
  • Are isolated or unsupported at home
  • Are at high risk of hospital admission or re-admission due to falls, injury or medication errors

We will continue to monitor the situation to determine when we will resume in-person services within our office locations and the community. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-844-887-8572.
